"Irish Brigade Monument"

Gettysburg, PA

A monument on the famous "wheatfield", honoring the 63rd, 69th, and 88th Irish Brigade Regiments who fought there during the three day battle.

I've gone to Gettysburg over 30 times since 1970, and I find this monument the most poignant and beautiful. The Irish Wolfhound at its base still awaits its master.

"Blue Moon over Marion-1912"

In 1903 the city erected an arch over Center street in honor of the Spanish-American war veterans, and in 1912 the city electrified them. I thought it would be a nice painting to show them lit at night.

The watercolor is based on a daylight photo I found.

"Front Porch Patriotism"

We always have a flag displayed at home. Either a 101st Airborne flag, (my old group), for veteran's day, an Irish Brigade flag for St. Patrick's day, a Buckeye's flag for college football season, or this one for "every day".
